Special cargo transported by air | Market outlook and regulation changes
Air cargo offers speed, agility, and care in handling special cargo. The healthcare industry moves more than $1 trillion worth of cargo each year, and forecasts suggest that this figure could reach $1.5 trillion by 2023.

Throughout 2022, IATA with airlines, industry, and regulators reviewed, developed and adjusted specific regulations and guidelines for the preparation, acceptance, and handling of these types of cargo. Better tracking, collaboration, and sustainability throughout the supply chain, along with technological improvements in packaging solutions for perishable and healthcare cargo are some of the key elements that have been addressed for 2023. This webinar examine the following topics and look at what changes are in the horizon:

• Perishables are an equally important trade, and sustainability efforts to reduce food waste and spoilage throughout the supply chain are on the rise. And for the most sensitive cargo of them all, animal welfare conditions for live animal transport standards are continuously enhanced, addressing requirements for pets including emotional support animals and service animals traveling by air, especially in-cabin.

• Over 7.8 billion people worldwide benefited from the global vaccine distribution mission undertaken by airlines in partnership with COVAX in 122 countries, helping save millions of lives. Unfortunately, millions of lives were also taken. Repatriation of remains at the request of the next-of-kin increased during the pandemic. Learn about the efforts to align all human remains handling procedures to ultimately improve the shipping experience and provide guidance to all parties involved.

Register for this webinar and take advantage of this unique opportunity to ask IATA's industry experts questions and stay up-to-date on the regulations that will come into effect on 1 January 2023.
